At The Shows

When I started out in ragdolls I fell in love with the temperament of the first cat we got.  As I’ve progressed in my breeding program we have been lucky enough to get some gorgeous cats from some really great breeders and have decided to start going to some cats shows.  What does this mean to our kittens buyers?  Well it doesn’t really change anything. I feel VERY strongly about putting health and temperament above ALL else and showing isn’t going to change that. But what showing does do is tell us, as a breeder, that past the temperament and health testing that the physical structure of our breeding cats is what the standard is calling for. So the cats that are perfectly marked for the show ring will be out in the show halls seeing how they match up to the standard. But the kittens that you’ll be taking home will have the same great temperament that they have had all along.  That won’t change!  And if our cats and kittens do well, they will have titles that their kittens new owners can brag about to their friends!

Great Lakes Cat Consortium, Inc.
3-6-10 to 3-7-10
We took Lily, Kai and Angel

Once again Lily was the stand out. She was Best of Breed 7 times. She also took 7 finals (which ranked her as the 10th whole cat at the show).  She got a 2nd Best Longhair Cat, 6th Best Longhair Cat, a 6th Best Cat, an 8th Best Catn and 3 9th Best Cats. This was enough wins to accomplish her Grand Championship in one weekend!  WOW!
Kai did well too, but was up against Lily. He still took 2 Finals, a 5th Best Longhair Cat and 10th Best Cat. This was enough to finish his Grand Championship as well!  It was a great show, with lots of friendly people and we just had a blast!

Great Lakes Friends of Felines
1-9-10 to 1-10-10
We took Lily, Jaz and Kai

Lily did AWESOME!  She was Best of Breed Kitten at all 15 shows. She also took 11 finals (which was enough to make her the 3rd ranked kitten at the whole show).  She took 2 2nd Best Longhair kittens, 4th Best Longhair kitten, a 5th Best, 3 6th Best, 7th Best, 2 8th Best and a 10th Best.   Jaz was 1st color the whole show and 3rd BOB 4 times and 2nd BOB 2 times. She just needs a final to get her Championship.
Kai did good but he wasn’t on his game, he was tired and slept alot and wasn’t his playful self.  He was Best of Breed 3 times, 2nd BOB 4 times, and 3rd Best of Breed 5 times.  He took a 5LH specialty final and just needs 2 more finals for his Grand Championship!

Lily will now be moving to the adult classes.  So watch for her and Kai at upcoming shows.
