At The Shows

When I started out in ragdolls I fell in love with the temperament of the first cat we got.  As I’ve progressed in my breeding program we have been lucky enough to get some gorgeous cats from some really great breeders and have decided to start going to some cats shows.  What does this mean to our kittens buyers?  Well it doesn’t really change anything.  I feel VERY strongly about putting health and temperament above ALL else and showing isn’t going to change that.  But what showing does do is tell us, as a breeder, that past the temperament and health testing that the physical structure of our breeding cats is what the standard is calling for.  So the cats that are perfectly marked for the show ring will be out in the show halls seeing how they match up to the standard.  But the kittens that you’ll be taking home will have the same great temperament that they have had all along.  That won’t change!  And if our cats and kittens do well, they will have titles that their kittens new owners can brag about to their friends!

Our Cat Club, Wis-Ill Cat Fanciers will be hosting a show in St Francis, WI  on March 9-11th, 2012.  For more information see the clubs website at: www.wis-illcatfanciers.com  Hope to see you all there!!!!!

November 2011
GLFOF Show in WI
We took Henry, Kai and Thistle for the championship class and Lilac and Daise for the kitten classes.  Lilac did great for a colorpoint especially a lilac and was either Best of Breed or 2nd Best of Breed in all rings, no finals but there was 41 kittens too!  Henry beat his dad in every ring, so I think its time Kai retire from the show ring and hand it down to his son.  Henry was Best of Breed in quite a few rings and managed a few finals, enough to get his Grand Championship!!!!  Thistle took another final and is halfway to her grand as well.  The kids had a great time stewarding and we got to introduce Mary and her two kitties to showing.  A great time was had by all!!!  Now for a little break off till our March show!!!

June 2011
Great Lakes Regional Awards are Announced and we’re thrilled to be on there!
Dark Knight is the 16th Best Longhaired Cat!
He was also the 2nd Best Ragdoll and the Best Seal Point.
Lily was the 3rd Best Ragdoll and the Best Blue Bicolor,
Calla was the Best Seal Mitted Ragdoll and Thistle was the 2nd Best Seal Mitted Ragdoll.

January GLFOF Show, March MN show, May IL Show, May IN show 2011

Well we’ve been out and about and just didn’t get the website updated.  In January,we got a few finals and had alot of fun.  In MN as kittens Henry and Taylor did good and got finals.  Their full brother Beau also got a final too.  We took Lily and Thistle with as well and they did good, Lily took a few finals but still waiting for the Best Cat.
May we took Thistle, Henry and Taylor.  Thistle got a final and is now a Champion.  Henry got 3 finals including a Best CAT!!!!  He’s also a champion halfway to his grand.
May Portage show, we had a blast and met a new ragdoll person!  We brought home 1 final for Thistle in tough competition and also had new photos done of the three by Chanan!  They are great and worth the drive alone!

We aren’t going to be out at too many shows this summer since most of them are too far away.  We are looking forward to the new shows that will be back in the area this fall and hope that the cats will have coat back by then and will also be showing our new kittens as well.
